Q: Do you have to be Catholic to attend Duquesne?
A: Founded in the Catholic tradition, Duquesne University is Catholic by design and is ecumenical in nature, welcoming students from all faiths to grow in their spiritual journey. For a listing of local worship sites for students please visit the Campus Ministry website.

Q: Are freshmen allowed to have a car on campus?
A: No resident freshman or sophomore student may have a car on campus. For more information visit the Commuter Affairs website.
Q: Can non-music majors enroll in music classes?
A: Students of any major have the option of playing an instrument and even joining our own Duquesne Symphony Orchestra. For the entire list of ensembles visit the School of Music website.
Q: Can you double-major at Duquesne?
A: Yes, but not for all programs. We would recommend that your contact the Office of Admissions for further information.

Q: Can you put more than one major on your application?
A: Yes, we would recommend that you contact the Office of Admissions for additional guidance.

Q: Is there any transportation provided to Duquesne students?
A: The Student Government Association Loop Bus is a FREE service provided by the Office of the Student Government Association and the Division of Student Life. All Duquesne University students may ride the bus free of charge during normal operational hours. Q: Does Duquesne offer tuition discounts for Catholic High School students?
A: Effective with the Fall 2007 freshman class, Duquesne University has eliminated its Parish Scholarship program. Applicants for admission will be considered for other institutional scholarship funds that have replaced the Parish Scholarship. Freshmen will benefit from this change since they will be notified of their scholarship eligibility at the time of admission. Additionally, the parish administrator will not have to complete a nomination form. Last fall, enrolled freshmen received almost 8 million dollars in Duquesne University- funded scholarships. Q: Do you have 'Pre-Med' and 'Pre-Law' as majors?
A: We do offer a pre-med and pre-law track. Please visit the respective websites for Pre-Health and Pre-Law for additional information.
Q: What is the difference between Early Decision and Early Action?
A: EARLY DECISION- Students who intend to only apply to Duquesne University may consider the Early Decision option. The application deadline for Early Decision is November 1st and the student must submit his/her non-refundable deposit by December 31st. Applicants to multiple colleges should NOT apply as Early Decision.
EARLY ACTION- This admission option holds a deadline date of December 1st and only pertains to Freshman applying to: Forensic Science, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant and Duquesne Medical Scholars Program with Temple School of Medicine. Since these programs are highly competitive, there is limited space. The deposit date for this option is May 1st.

Q: Is the FAFSA form required for academic scholarship?
A: No. Academic scholarships are offered to students based on academic performance and is not need- based as is the FAFSA form.
